Five Fun Things to Do in Edmonton, AB as A Team

At Innovation Drywall of Edmonton, we place great emphasis on building strong relationships with our customers, contractors, and within our own team because we understand how important this is for our business.

After all, installing and repairing drywall takes a team effort, one that simply would not be possible without the help and support of our contractors. Our team is successful because of the time and effort invested in relationship-building exercises inside and outside working hours.

It's not only about work for our team of drywallers and painters! We know how to have fun, too. In this post, we'll share our top five things to do in Edmonton, Alberta as a team and what we have done with our contractors, so read on to learn more about the city and how we enjoy team building activities at these attractions.

1. Visit the Telus World of Science

A trip to the Telus World of Science is undoubtedly one of the best things in the city! It offers an excellent opportunity for learning for both adults and kids.

The Edmonton Space & Science Foundation runs the broad-based scientific center Telus World of Science Edmonton, situated in the Woodcroft area. It is the biggest in Western Canada and has 144,430 square feet of public space.

Visitors can view the sun, moon, stars, and planets using the facility’s telescope and learn more about the galaxy with a planetarium. With various exhibits, you can broaden your knowledge and learn more about the natural world around you.

Plus, with an IMAX theatre that offers visitors an immersive experience and various hands-on experiments they can try at the science center, there's something for everyone here. If you are visiting Edmonton for the first time, we highly recommend visiting the Telus World of Science.

School-goers aren't the only ones who visit this impressive learning center. Our team enjoys learning about topics other than drywall, and the Telus World of Science is one of the best places to do this!

2. Enjoy a Game of Soccer at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton

What better way to experience the city and build lasting relationships with contractors than at a sports game at the Commonwealth Stadium? This large stadium can fit over 56,300 spectators, making it the perfect place for world-class events.

It's the largest open-air stadium in Canada, and while it's used primarily for soccer, various athletics events like rugby, and concerts are hosted here too.

The energy and vibe at one of these events is great, so if you're looking for a way to experience the city, there's no better way to enjoy a sporting event or concert at this stadium.

You will need to book ahead if there’s a particular event you want to watch, so keep that in mind.

At Innovation Drywall of Edmonton, we also enjoy sports games at the stadium, which helps us enjoy each other’s company and build relationships that promote success in the workplace.

3. Team Dinners at West Edmonton Mall

What better way to focus on team building than with a dinner or lunch at West Edmonton Mall? It is one of the largest malls in the world and has more than 800 shops, two hotels, over 100 restaurants, and nine attractions!

Because of the sheer size of this mall, there’s always something new to do or experience. With impressive aesthetics and a one-of-a-kind shopping experience, West Edmonton Mall is a must-see attraction in Edmonton!

You can go ice skating, enjoy a luxurious spa treatment, play adventure golf, enjoy the dinner theatre, and so much more.

It's also a firm favourite among team members and contractors who enjoy team dinners at the mall. There are over 100 restaurants to choose from, which ensures that they always have a unique experience when focusing on team building.

4. Entertainment at Edmonton EXPO Centre

The Edmonton EXPO Centre, the most extensive facility of its kind in Western Canada with 522,000 square feet of space, hosts over 1.3 million visitors annually. With a convention center, mid-sized arena, seven show halls, and beautiful ballrooms, there's always something to do there.

Whether you're enjoying a game of basketball, a music concert, or a private event, you will surely enjoy an immersive experience at the Expo Center.

If you’re looking for something fun to do, why not check out the facility's website and book your favourite live event? It's one of our favourite places to go in Edmonton when we’re in the mood for some music.

In fact, our team enjoys concerts and live events at the Expo Center after hours regularly!

5. Experience the Rich History of Edmonton at Fort Edmonton Park

Do you want to learn more about the city's history while having a good time? Ever wondered what it was like in Edmonton in the early 1900s? In that case, we recommend a visit to Fort Edmonton Park

It's a popular tourist destination, as it's the largest living history museum in the country. The park is staffed over the summer by historically costumed interpreters and features both authentic and recreated historical structures that depict Edmonton's past.

There's also a train, streetcar, theatre, and more where you can enjoy great fun with the whole family.

This is another popular venue for our team that enjoys learning more than just drywalling. They visit Fort Edmonton Park to experience the history of the city while enjoying quality time together outside work hours.
